Nanli Lake南丽湖

Nanli Lake is located about 40 kilometers (24.85 miles) from Haikou, in Ding'an County. The beautiful and relaxing Nanli Lake is made up of many small islands and peninsulas, covering 46 square kilometers (11,367 acres). Here the average water temperature is around 22 C (71.6 F) and the climate is actually quite beneficial for the body. Nanli Lake is in fact a large man-made lake. In 1958, the people of Ding'an built the Nanfu Reservoir here. As a result, the water that gathered in the valley became today's Nanli Lake and the area’s mountains became the islands in the lake. However, the islands in Nanli Lake are quite unique. There are thirteen islands and five peninsulas in all, and the shapes of the islands are varied. The largest one covers 39,600 square meters (9.79 acres), while the smallest is 3,200 square meters (0.79 acres). Lush trees and beautiful wild flowers grow on the islands; wild rabbits jump in the bushes and singing birds show off their voice. Boating on the lake is a great way to relax and unwind while enjoying the picturesque landscape.  In addition, Nanli Lake provides modern accommodation as well as catering and entertainment facilities that include hotels, restaurants, villas, golf courses and different forms of entertainment.
