Day 0 USA- Guangzhou
Depart from the USA this evening via China Southern Airlines.

Day 1 Enroute

Day 2 Guangzhou- Tunxi (L,D)
Arrive Guangzhou early this morning and connect with your flight to Tunxi, the gateway to China's legendary Huangshan (Yellow Mountain). Meet your tour guide and transfer to the Hotel. In the afternoon visit an ancient town nearby where most of the dwellings date to the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Day 3 Tunxi- Huangshan (B,L)
Drive to the foot of Huangshan, and board a cable car for the summit. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. Known for its knurled and knotted pine trees, its rugged rock formations, and its mist shrouded vistas, Huangshan has inspired poets and painters for more than a thousand years. The views of the surrounding countryside, with traditional villages and rice paddies, are some of the most beautiful in China.

Day 4 Huangshan (B,L)
Enjoy a spectacular sunrise above a sea of clouds, then take in the West Sea and North Sea panoramas. If you're energetic you can explore the mountain via one of the numerous hiking trails.

Day 5 Huangshan- Tunxi- Shanghai (B,L)
This morning you'll have some more time to enjoy the spectacular scenery. After lunch you'll take the cable car back down the mountain, and then transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Shanghai, where you will be met and transferred to the Hotel.

Day 6 Shanghai (B,L)
Visit the Jade Buddha Temple, renowned for its buddha carved from a single piece of white jade. Continue to the Bund, famous walkway along the Huangpu River, a favorite place for locals and tourists alike. In the afternoon you'll visit beautiful Yu Garden, a traditional Chinese garden and UNESCO World Heritage site, and the neighboring Old Shanghai Bazzar, with many small shops selling antiques, souvenirs, teas, Chinese medicine, etc.

Day 7 Shanghai- Wuhan- Yangtze River (B,L,D)
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Wuhan, where you will be met and transferred to the harbour with dinner enroute. Board after dinner.

Day 8 Yangtze River (B,L,D)
Begin your cruise up the mighty Yangtze River. Enjoy some of the many cultural programs onboard, or just relax on deck or in the lounge.

Day 9 Yangtze River (B,L,D)
This morning you'll navigate the Gezhou shiplock, followed a couple hours later by the Three Gorges Dam 5-stage shiplock. This afternoon you'll visit the Three Gorges dam site for an overview of this huge project. Return to the ship and cruise through the Xiling Gorge, first of the famous Three Gorges.

Day 10 Yangtze River (B,L,D)
Early this morning you'll cruise through the Wu Gorge. After breakfast enjoy a shore excursion to either the Daning River or Shennong Stream, where you'll experience the tranquil beauty of one of the Yangtze's tributaries. Return to the ship and cruise through the Qutang Gorge in the afternoon.

Day 11 Yangtze River (B,L,D)
This morning's shore excursion is to the town of Wanxian, where you'll enjoy a city tour including a visit to the museum, local market and a relocation village. Return to the ship midday and continue cruising upstream.

Day 12 Chongqing- Guangzhou- USA (B,L)
Disembark in Chongqing this morning and enjoy a tour to the ancient town of Chi Qi Kou, with many old buildings still standing. You'll have the opportunity to see the traditional way of life of the local people. ALso visit Erling Park and the Great Hall of the People before transferring to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your flight to the USA.

Optional Extension

Day 12 Chongqing- Guilin (B,L,D)
Disembark in Chongqing and enjoy local sightseeing before transferring to the airport for your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel. This evening enjoy a special dinner show featuring some of China's many ethnic minorities. After dinner your guide will take you to see traditional cormorant fishing.

Day 13 Guilin (B,L)
Today's excursion is a cruise along the scenic Li River. Experience the magical beauty of limestone rock formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings. Disembark at the charming village of Yangshuo, which has one of the best antique and handcraft markets in China. You'll have time to browse the market and enjoy the local cafés before driving back to Guilin.

Day 14 Guilin- Guangzhou- USA (B,L)
Enjoy sightseeing in the Guilin area, including Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill and Seven Star Park. In the afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, where you will connect with your international flight to the USA.
