1. The Four Main Buildings of the International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an
 - The Chang’an Tower, Guangyun Entrance, Theme Pavilion, and the Greenhouse
The Chang’an Tower, an observation tower and the symbol of the exposition, is of commanding height at the exposition site- Young Zhongnan Mountain. Climbing up to the top of the tower, tourists may have a panoramic view of the whole site. The Chang’an Tower is 99 meters high with 13 stories. The design of the tower incorporates modern elements while keeping the main form of an antique square tower of the Sui and Tang Dynasties (581-907). It is a reflection of both the essence of Chinese architectural culture and modern, trendy urban features. It also represents a perfect combination of green architectural technology and art, exemplifying ecological practice. The tower will become a landmark that enhances Xi’an’s architectural culture.
The Guangyun Entrance, Theme Pavilion, and Greenhouse, all novel and unique styles, were designed to be constructed on natural terrains. They are all in the image of traditional Shaanxi and Xi’an culture, while also showing off a fashionable, modern and green Xi’an. Furthermore, in them, the theme, “Eternal peace & harmony between nature & mankind, nurturing the future earth--a city for nature, co-existing in peace,” has found its full expression.
The Guangyun Entrance, located at the north-east part of the exposition site, is the main entrance of the International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an, and it crosses the 60-meter wide Expo Avenue. The avenue can hold as many as 20,000 passengers during peak hours.  The ramp is made up of water features and square flowers gardens, with horticulture features paving the way from the highest end to the lowest end, well-integrating with the Chang’an Flower Valley. This magnificent design makes a great impression.
The Theme Pavilion on the main axis of the International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an was designed to be integrated with the dock and surrounding areas. Its architectural layout is in the shape of the Chinese character “王” consisting of irregular tri-wing geometrical objects. The external wall faces are made of bronze, wood, or in garden fashion, irregular interfaces.  The aesthetic effect is unevenly delicate and profound. The exhibition in the pavilion will showcase new achievements and products in horticulture and floriculture, as well as new environmental-friendly and energy-saving technologies and materials.
The 5317-square meter Greenhouse located at the Splendid Lake is the botanic hothouse of the International Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi’an. The greenhouse will be filled with rare plants and eco-landscapes from different regions of various climates in the world.

2. Three Special Service Areas of the Exposition
 - Romance by the Ba River, Southeast Asian Street, and European Avenue
The Romance by the Ba River is a group of buildings of local Shaanxi flavor and heroic Qingchuan ambience, where tourists can relax, do some shopping, and wander among poetic sceneries, or even dine in a boat on the river.
The Southeast Asian Street is also a group of buildings in elaborate and admirable Southeast Asian style. In addition, the exotic song and dance performances in the fresh and clean air will carry visitors to a different world.
The European Avenue is a small fashionable town. In the middle of it is a recreation space along the waters. Performances distinctive of European culture such as fancy car parades will make anyone reluctant to move on.

3.Five Major Horticultural Scenic Spots of the Exposition
 - Chang'an Flower Valley, Colourful Plants from Qinling Mountains, Flowers along the Silk Road, Overseas Collections, and Flower Rainbow over the Ba River
The Chang'an Flower Valley recreates the scenery of the “Heavens” with flowers of rich and various colors. It represents how people down the ages perceive and imagine “Heaven”. During the 178-day long exposition, the flowers and styles will change five times.
The Colourful Plants from the Qinling Mountains is a microcosm of Mount Qinling. The terrain is diversified with peculiar features. During the exposition, this place will be covered with gaudy and gorgeous flowers.
The Flowers along the Silk Road will use floriculture, green sculpture, and Dotted Squares to recreate the significant and historic Silk Road.
The Overseas Collections with elegant and magnificent European gardens as the main elements collectively represent the horticulture of countries and regions. Visitors may feast their eyes on flowers and horticulture from across five continents.
The Flower Rainbow over the Ba River is a waterfront structure that would enables visitors to personally feel the interaction between water and flower. It brings them into a picture where man harmoniously co-exists with nature.
